This upbringing meant that Karen was no stranger to change or new horizons, as her family’s life took them from the lush landscapes of Arkansas to the historic charm of South Carolina, from the academic atmosphere of Charlottesville, Virginia, to the expansive spirit of Texas. Eventually, Karen’s family settled in Houston, Texas, where she spent her formative years, learning the value of resilience, adaptability, and building lasting relationships across diverse communities. Karen’s academic path reflects her keen intellect and commitment to excellence. She attended the University of South Carolina, where she majored in both Marketing and Finance—an ideal foundation for her eventual success in real estate. Her dual focus gave her a deep understanding of economic trends and the art of persuasive communication, skills that would serve her well throughout her professional journey. Before finding her calling in real estate, Karen excelled in the staffing industry, where her leadership quickly became apparent. She rose to become Vice President for one of the largest regional staffing companies headquartered in Washington, D.C., overseeing operations, developing business strategies, and mentoring rising leaders within the organization. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Karen later co-founded and was Executive Vice President of U.S. Personnel, a $100 million, 21 location staffing firm, which grew to become one of the largest staffing companies in the Southeast. While excelling in her business career, Karen also played a pivotal role in the growth and eventual successful sale of the company to a leading NYC-based private equity group—a transaction that further cemented her reputation for strategic insight and strong negotiation skills. This accomplishment not only showcased her business acumen but also enriched the wealth of experience she brings to every real estate transaction. Her entrepreneurial insight, ability to build teams, and unwavering commitment to client service set her apart—qualities that continue to define her work in real estate today. Community involvement has always been central to Karen - a mother to three.
